I almost forgot about my blog, but reading Annie's and seeing all that she's been up to compelled me to write something, atleast.
So I've been rather busy these 2 weeks mainly because its almost the end of semester and this is when I leave all my major assignments as I work tremendously well in the miniscule hours which I leave myself. To my devastation - both times, when I pulled an all nighter to finish these horrendous assignments and pull myself out of bed in the morning, I walk into class not only to be greeted by the teacher BUT informing me that "I have given an extension on the assignments and they can now be handed in at the end of semester". When that happened to me again today.... I just felt like running into a brick wall. Thank god I have it out of the way though, because even though I have that extension I know I wouldn't touch that piece of shit.
My book was utter crap, sorry I mean IS but I'm quite proud of the Scarface DVD Package which I made. Not too bad for a 10 hour job + tetris in between.
For those interested, here a sneak preview of the final product:

Well anyway I hate to talk about uni and other than this I haven't been out too much.
I watched Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End today, and I don't want to spoil the movie for my readers (even if I wanted to, I couldn't to much avail because this movie was damned hard to follow, and NO it is not just me). Albeit I'd like to express my thoughts on this spin off.
So this much anticipated film was really put on a pedastool and simply, fell short of it's goal. It was still entertaining none the less if you go into the film with an open mind and simply sit there for 170minutes and just enjoy without thinking - just watching Depp prancing around with his eyeliner on again (I happen to like watching that). This is another example where they try to do too much with 101 plots simultaneously running and none leading anywhere. You could tell that they just tried very hard to wrap up all the story lines which they had started but in dreadful ways which were an anticlimax. Sad to say that the star of the show Sparrow wasn't really much of a joy to watch as he was in the first or second. He's not the same Sparrow as we knew him to be and sadly I wasn't able to laugh more than once throughout this 2 hour 48minute long marathon. But considering this was originally just a Disney land ride turned into a super successful movie - it was still entertaining even with all that is happening that you are just expected to ignore the plot holes, or else seriously it will drive you insane as to why this and this happened. The answer is they never answer! It's a simple plot turned into some confusing extravaganza and you'd have to be a genius to be able to keep up with the pace of the movie. Right from the beginning I was trying to keep up with the previous plot but I'd have all these new ones thrown at me.
Anyway I think you guys get the point. It is just another shallow blockbuster but with amazing CGI. I do understand the movie now because I've accepted that those sort of questions just weren't answered and some were dealt with in one liners I afraid to say. So if anyone has seen it and is confused I am happy to enlighten you about the movie which I've already pondered and read up on for 3 hours... unsettlingly.
It is also not surprising that the ending is left open for a 4th movie if they ever want to leech more money. Honestly, I think they should just stop milking this already dead cow just so Depp and Rush (and the other talented actors besides Bloom and Knightly) can have some dignity. Because no matter how many flaws this movie has, it will still rake in the cash. I just think these actors don't need to become sellouts! Though having said this if a 4th was out I would still go and watch it, but this time without using my brain.
Atleast this was better than Pirates 2: Dead Man's Chest and this 3rd installment is truly a Depp-fest - a tad lame but I am not complaining!
Rating: 7/10 sometimes I think I'm just too smart for these sort of films, I should just learn to sit back and relax haha :P
